Vocational training fairs
Every year, we ask ourselves the following question: “How can potential job applicants be made aware of Korrodin?”
Korrodin responds to this question in a number of ways.
Educational provider
We work closely with various educational institutions and offer company tours and internships.
Flyers
We also regularly send flyers to schools or go there ourselves to provide information about the various apprenticeships we offer at our company.
Online
Of course, we advertise apprenticeships on our website and via the Jobagentur agency – we even had a nice radio commercial.
Print media
From time to time, special print editions on upcoming job markets in the region appear in the Nürnberger Nachrichten, our local newspaper here in Nuremberg. And of course, we also advertise in the paper.
Job markets
Numerous job markets are held every year. This year alone, there are six of them.
- February 23-24, 2024 – Shop your future / ORO Center, Schwabach
- March 1, 2024 – Vocational bazaar / Business school, Nuremberg
- March 2, 2024 – Vocational market / Secondary school, Wendelstein
- March 15, 2024 – Education Day / D. Bonhöfer Gymnasium, Oberasbach
- March 20, 2024 – Career fair / Sperber Secondary School, Nuremberg
- May 10, 2024 – Career fair / Turnhalle 48er, Schwabach
Because you can find out about a wide range of career opportunities and current job offers all in one place at these events, you can expect a large number of students and parents to attend. This is an ideal opportunity for training managers to get “up close and personal” with potential trainees. It’s the perfect opportunity for the companies at the exhibit to present themselves and make a good impression.
Some formats even include initial job interviews, some of which take place in separate rooms.
These job fairs can also boost the self-confidence of young applicants, because they can practice the art of being spontaneous and the skill of making small talk at these interviews. At these events, there are always a number of young talents who catch your eye and their insightful questions or special charm leave a lasting impression. Take a chance, come to our stand and convince our staff of your talents!
Here are some general tips for those interested in job fairs
What to wear
What you wear says a lot about you – dressing professionally gives you self-confidence and a sense of assurance.
Do your research ahead of time
Find out about the companies at the exhibit before you go.
For some of these events, you can get a map of where each company’s stands will be located.
Time
Plan enough time for conversations.
Planning
Use your first interviews as practice – so don’t start with the company that you’re most interested in.
Documents
Please bring a folder with your current application to give to the interviewer.
Arrive on time
If you have made an appointment in advance, make sure to arrive on time.
Eye contact
Make eye contact and smile to show that you’re interested in having a conversation.
Positive attitude
Having a positive attitude is the key to making a good impression.
Small talk
You don’t always have to talk about in-depth topics – small talk works too.
Think of any positive aspects you’ve noticed about the event location or the trade fair and be sure to mention them (which may seem irrelevant at first). Small talk is a way of making connections, and if you practice, you can get better at it.
People are more likely to respond favorably to you if you take a relaxed approach and simply let things unfold.
Ask open-ended questions
Ask open-ended questions that can’t be answered with simply a “yes” or a “no.”
Take notes
Have a pen/pencil or tablet handy for any notes.
