Is it possible to always keep inventory information up to date without taking an annual inventory? Find out here how we have made this possible!

After we installed our new warehouse system, we also introduced permanent inventory. By storing the goods in batches, we can always easily access specific batches. Inventories are updated in real-time whenever an item is added or removed. This enables us to provide you with up-to-date information on the availability of our products at all times.

But how exactly does this work?

Once a delivery has arrived at our warehouse and has been checked for the exact number of items and approved by our quality assurance department, the goods are then stored.

Empty containers are requested from our AKKL warehouse for filling. These containers are then filled with the goods. The corresponding quantity, along with the container number, is then stored in the system when the container is scanned. The goods are now in stock and available. The exact number of pieces can now be removed according to the customer’s needs. The quantity that is removed is recorded in the system. The container is then returned to our automatic small container warehouse and the quantity is updated.

We have even included our packaging materials (cardboard boxes, adhesive tape, shipping security, etc.) in this system, because this was the last field that still had to be counted by hand. Now that we can guarantee comprehensive monitoring and an overview of our inventories, this is yet another way we have optimized and improved our internal processes.

The advantages are obvious.

We no longer need to take an annual inventory, because anything currently in our inventory can be called up at any time. This saves time, which we then invest in improving our customer service. With this system, quick access to the required information is guaranteed at all times and, as a result, our workflow has been noticeably simplified and accelerated.
