Find out the advantages of being DIN EN ISO 14001 certified here!

We don’t consider it an obligation to be DIN EN ISO 14001 environmentally certified, for us, it’s a matter of the heart.

DIN EN ISO 14001 certification is a globally recognized standard, and also reduces environmental risks.
The focus is on a process of continuous improvement as a way to achieve a company’s defined environmental goals.

What is the procedure for obtaining DIN EN ISO 14001 certification?

To begin with, the company must implement an environmental management system and verify its effectiveness by internal audits.
Once this has been done, there’s nothing standing in the way of certification! A pre-audit can be conducted to identify any uncertainties before applying for certification, but this is not mandatory.
The initial certification process is divided into two stages.

Level I

The auditor checks the documentation of the environmental management system. Next, the auditor assesses the company’s location and the conditions at the site of the environmental management system.

Level II

In stage II, the auditor checks the effectiveness of the environmental management system. This involves discussions with employees and, if necessary, an inspection of the production facility.
The environmental management system’s documentation is reviewed even more intensively than in stage I.

Once the audit is complete, all results are summarized and documented in an audit report. At the end, there is a final discussion with the auditor. This provides a precise overview of the audit process and the auditor can offer recommendations in the event of non-compliance.

Re-certification

As with all certifications, obtaining DIN EN ISO 14001 certification is not a once-and-done process!
DIN EN ISO 14001 certification calls for continuous improvement of the environmental management system. The first monitoring audit takes place, at the latest, after one year and the second audit takes place after another 12 months. Re-certification then follows after three years.
